I’ve been taking a walk down memory lane and thought about my very first computer: A giant mammoth of a monitor and a super slow processor. To create a link back exchange campaign that will be successful you will need to set some goals for you campaign. Go do some research on some sites that you would like a link from and to get a link from the sites that link to them.

Link Management

Creating a link back area to keep your links in order is a good idea. The way Voice Of Bragg did it is to create The Voice Of Bragg Directory.

This is a sure link exchange with a Page Ranked 4 site by Google. It seems to me that I would get a million hits by sites with lower ranks for the simple fact that it boosts your sites rank when you have a surplus of high ranked links. This is a directory that has shared links with at least 400 smart link exchange sites. You have to be able to give a website owner the oppurtunity to have a featured link on your site as well.

Comment Contests

Take advantage of  the thought that your readers might own a site and would like to have a link on your site. Commenting is encouraged when making friends or creating a blog family. As your comments grow so shall your reader base. Give them some incentive and give your top commenter a featured link.

Don’t Be Scared To Ask

Makes no sense to go from site to site and not ask to swap links with them. They are a site the you regularly visit so pull up your pants and ask them if they want to swap link. When you do this you must include your sites info so that people will be able to have their interest peaked when they see your key word about your site. The more time that I spend blogging I have realized that link popularity is directly related to usable data on a blog. Link popularity is very important when it comes to a site that is going to be ranked high by Google  and the other important important search engines. Having a good link base can be very good for a site.

As we look at some link strategies we need to be very specific about what is a good quality link.  Link popularity refers to the number and quality of the incoming links that are pointing to your site. The people who have a good rank who give you a link are basically cosigning that your site is site worth going to. The Search Engines look at this and see how many links you have and put you in the same light as the highly ranked site that have linked to you. Getting a grasp on this can be kind of a hand full to handle, so let’s see if we can do it.

When we look at how do we get our site looked at by the search engines we can ask ourselves, how. We are not able to give ourselves these links and have the search engines do what we want by not doing what we can to appease the Search Engine top dogs. People have tried to pay for links and have found themselves getting there sites banned from some search engines.

After you have decided upon your sites theme or subject it is now time to go out and link up with people and sites that have your same interests. This will be best found by doing some old fashion Google it type investigative work.

Introduction To The Link King

This site is primarily going to be about link building, so the thing that I will be doing is going out and trying to contact other sites related to my site. After I become the most notable or well known person on the subject then my site will go up in link popularity.

This site has been running for about two years, and I have gone to almost every site to read on how to build a link kingdom.  You have to put your site in a good position when it comes to a good quality link. Going to link farms will only put your site out there with the bad people of the world, and no-one wants to slum it up with you if you give them no reason to become a part of your link family .

I will be offering up plenty of ways to improve your link popularity, if you want to try these strategies then they might work for you, if you decide to go down a dark path then you will pay the penalties of the bad link system that you set yourself up for.

As I go down this article I will be giving you some sites that will give you some direction and maybe even some link strategies that will benefit you, so keep in mind, I to look for the crown to be the Link King, so be patient on the reading, I am trying to help you.

In The Beginning

Lets break this down to some simple steps for everyone to be able to get on this quick.

1. Do a search on sites that are like yours and ask them for a link, maybe even give them a link before and they might feel like they should just because you did it first.

2. Make sure you give them the info they need to give you a proper link, if you say can you put my link on your site, and you give them http://voiceofbragg.com, and nothing else, you failed. I would tell them that the link text should say The Link King, then when people click on that it will take them to me.

3. Make sure the people you are dealing with actually are someone you want to do link busyness with, you could be dealing with  site that has no link strength at all. Go to their sites and check their pages, here is a site that I use to check site popularity.

Keyword resrearch is one of the most important parts of search engine optimization. To understand what you have to Rank for, you have to understand what keywords to target. SpyFu is my favorite website to do this.

Let’s use the term internet marketing and see what comes up in Spyfu. First we see the Cost Per Click, this is important if your going to do any pay per clikc campaining, you can figure out your budget before hand. Next we have ad word results, who is bidding on those keywords, the organic results, these are catagories used in directories, for internet marketing here’s what’s important.

You can see what your competitor is targeting, what they are showing, and the keywords that their using. It also shows related terms and there related concepts.

When you put in a URL in to the SpyFu we see their daily ad budget and what they are paying per click. If someone has an affiliate program this could be a little misleading. Bottom line is it shows exactly what they are doing, their top competitors, their top ad competitors, and other domains by that company, and last their sub-domains. It will show the search terms that they come up for. This is a great tool that gives you so much info you will need when researching for key words on your domain.

This tool will automatically unfollow everybody you’re following. There will be no further confirmation. Please be patient as this may take some time, depending on how many people you are following. After completion, unfollows may take some time to take affect.

After reading an article of a fellow blogger about the unfollowing Twitter program, I realized that you have to give these people your user name and password. Does this sound like it is a smart idea to you? When you happen upon a blog that tries to give you some advice please look at if they are trying to lead you down a bad road. If you want to stop following someone just push to unfollow them, or maybe next time think before you push follow.

This might be a dangerous site, so please beware of the dangers of giving out your Twitter user name and password.

Reverse engineering

All of these examples lead the hacker to your personnel information. The definition of Reverse engineering is the process of extracting the knowledge. Here’s an example of reverse engineering.

So you can see where this is leading. The hacker get’s all of your infomation to your online account with the opportunity to access your bank account.

Dumpster Diving

Come on this has to sound appealing to you. Who doesn’t want to sneak to your house in the middle of the night to look through your trash for any information that could lead them to your account information?
Planting The Thumb Drive

You walk outside to have a smoke and there it is, a thumb drive. You pick it up and think, it’s my lucky day. You walk inside, put it in your computer and pow, the key logger program is loose and you think the thumb drive had no info on it. Later that day you buy something online and give the hacker all of your credit card information.

Trojans

These are more common than you think. Seems there are a lot of people that are downloading stuff for shareware sites. The files you download might not always have exactly what you expected; they might have something extra to it, a Trojan. This allows a hacker to break through your computers defenses to access you computer.

Packet Sniffing

We can talk about wireless hacking here. By listening in on your wireless transmissions, a hacker can gather information that will allow them to study it to get your personnel information. This can also be done over the wire, meaning through your telephone wire of cable modem. If a hacker has any way to intercept your transmission he can access your packets of information.

Username And Password Programs

When you buy software or hardware for firewall or virus protection, it doesn’t stop a persistent hacker. There are many programs out there that will sit and try and find your user name and password to your wireless router or computer. After they have that information they have the keys to the castle.
