1. Just one cup of yogurt will help blemishes clear up thanks to the zinc it contains. Look for varieties that do not contain a lot of fat or sugar. Yes, they do exist and they offer lots of taste.

4. It is also often used to soothe an itchy scalp. And while it is soothing the scalp, it is also working on your dandruff. Apply, wrap hair in a towel and then rinse after 15 minutes.

 5. Your hands and nails can also benefit from yogurt. Simply combine 8 ounces of plain yogurt with the juice of one lemon. Return to the refrigerator for several hours and then use to massage your hands and nails. Rinse and pat your hands dry and you should notice the difference. Hands should be soft and supple. *Keep mixture in refrigerator and use within 2 weeks or so.

How secure is your wireless network? Too many times I have turned on my computer and the wireless network connection icon tells me there are available connections. This is an indication that there are wireless networks out there, question is, are they secure.

Types Of Wireless Networks

• RFID -Radio-Frequency Identification
• Infrared/IRDA -line-of-sight low power optical networking.
• HomeRF -an older wireless PC networking standard that is rapidly
Disappearing.
• Bluetooth -wireless networking for connecting peripherals such as printers, PDAs etc., and sometimes used for LAN.
• WiFi -IEEE 802.11a, b, g there are other versions; the standard everyone is going to is 54mb of transfer speed.
• 1x RTT, 3G and 2.5G cellular technologies

Security

WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) -uses MAC (Media Access Control) level security to access your wireless network, and does not share an authentication key. When the wireless network has verified that your MAC is allowed on the network that’s when the encryption begins.

WPA (WiFi Protected Access) –this is the successor to WEP, it should resolve some of the issues that WEP is known to have.

Before You Go Wireless

Ask yourself some questions before you add your home computer to the wireless world. Once you put yourself out there, anyone can get in to your PC if it is not secure.

1. What kind of network will I be using?
2. What is your MAC?
3. Do you know how to get into your wireless router?
4. How many people are going to be on the network?
5. What is going to be your SSID?
6. Will you be using WEP or WPA?
7. What will be your method of using wireless?

Hackers Haven

Your open wireless network is a hacker’s hideout. He or she can get in while you are transmitting data and grab any of your information out of the air. With or without security you are still at risk. The time it takes a hacker to break into your network is about the same time it takes for you to get up and answer the door. So this authors opinion is that if you are using wireless do not put any information out that you don’t want the world to have.

This is one of the kindest things I’ve ever experienced.  I have no way to know who sent it, but there is a kind soul working in the dead letter office of the US Postal service.  Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month.  The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.  She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her.  I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words:
Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog?  She died yesterday and is with you in heaven.  I miss her very much.  I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.  I hope you will play with her.  She likes to play with balls and to swim.  I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog.  I really miss her.

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven.  We put our return address on it.  Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven.  That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.  A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet.  I told her that I thought He had.

Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, “To Meredith” in an unfamiliar hand.  Meredith opened it.  Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, “When a Pet Dies”.  Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope.  On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven.  Having the picture was a big help.  I recognized Abbey right away.  Abbey isn’t sick anymore.  Her spirit is here with Me just like it stays in your heart.  Abbey loved being your dog.  Since we don’t need our bodies in heaven, I don’t have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.  Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to Me.  What a wonderful mother you have.  I picked her especially for you.  I send My blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.  By the way, I Am wherever there is love.

Today I was thinking about how I was going to best reach a wider reader base when I started to think how hard I have worked to get my site this far. There have been so many obstacles that have come in my way, I can’t even count them. I actually had a fellow blogger tell me that I would never be a successful blogger because I did not have what it takes to be as talented blogger like  they where.

Sister Support

My family is pretty big, three sisters and two brothers, I’m sad to say that I am not to close to my brothers. My sisters have been my heart that beats in my chest that has family blood running through it. One or the other is always there to show me the pure love that a brother needs, showing me the true potential that is inside me, whether it be the great possibilities in my life or the smack upside the head when needed.

To my sisters, thank you so much for everything that you have given me in my life, you have been there for that young boy and slowly nurtured him to a man. Truly with out you I know that my life would be empty in so many ways; friendship, mentorship, guidance, and most of all love. God bless you in all you do. I love you.

As I stand next to the bed the day my son is born I wait to hold him for the first time. He stands before me five years later a great little man. How many times I’ve  looked at him and thought of how time has gone by so fast. 

When I drive up from a long day, here he comes “Dad” is our daily ritual  as I give him a big hug and ask him how his day was and what he did. Being a father is scary, thinking of how I can affect the balance of the lives in the house.

Have you ever had a phone call of someone you didn’t want to talk to and you told your child to lie and say your not home? How many times do you mention how great mom or dad is? Do the children know how wonderful your family is? By saying these things on a regular basis gives your family some identity. Children feel more secure in a home that they feel is stable.

How will your children react to a mom or dad who does not share a loving spirit with one another? Will they expect this from their parents or will they treat their peers or future spouses the same? Children need to know that mom and dad love each other.

Children’s Space

Do parents need to be in every inch of personal space? Take a step back and ask yourself if this is something that you need to be into, before you invade their space and damage their trust in you.

A Father’s Bubble

When I tuck in my son I whisper in his ear that I will always be there for him and nothing will ever happen to him. This is how I keep him from thinking he will be harmed by something he can’t control. Does this dribble into other aspects of his life, yes, I’m working on it. He has to fail to learn about failing and succeeding after failure.

Encouraging Your Child

Mom says good job and your child smiles and says thanks mom, dad says good job and touches them on the shoulder and they beam. There is a difference and fathers need to step up and realize their roll. Encouragement comes in many forms; a touch, a look, a hug, encouraging words, little notes for you child. These notes can be in their lunch box, book bag, be creative.

Today I was giving my son a talk when I realized that my ton was a tad much for what he had done. Think about what has happened, is it childish, or foolish, then think if you would like to be talked to in the way you are about to talk to them. Works for me…
