Happiness And Truth

Filed Under (Talk) by Randy Bragg

Happiness is linked with truth. Some things are true, whether we choose to believe them or not. All Men want to be happy. The truth of this statement is so obvious that it barely needs mentioning. Yet Men often fail to discover the one sure path to happiness. Happiness does not consist in getting what we want.

It is on the narrow road to self-denial that we find the broad road of success and peace.

Knowing True Love

Filed Under (Talk) by Randy Bragg

There has been many times when I would go out with a woman and say I love you. Three months later we are finding out that we are not a match. Then I met the one to call my wife, she to has heard I love you over and over for twelve years. Nine years in to our marriage we had our son. After four years and so many times where sometimes I felt that I would fall short as a dad, there comes the day when I come home from work and he screams, “Dad” and runs towards me. The times when he comes up and says “Dad I love you”, the look in his eyes of approval when he has done something great and the times when he thinks he has let me down. You can’t touch love, you can’t breath it, but when I look in my sons eyes, he feels me with his love, and I know.

Tell Me Your Thoughts

Filed Under (Blogging Advice) by Randy Bragg

To change the theme or not to change the theme that is the question?

I’ve been to so many sites that suddenly got the John Chow disease. With as many readers as he has he can change his theme and not miss a beat when it comes to reader traffic. When it comes to his content it still stands the test of a interesting readable blog. Seems he has been able to fill his blog with tons of adds and people will still filter through all the fluff to get to the good stuff.

Finding A Theme That Will Work For My Blog.

The search goes on to find the right theme for Voice Of Bragg. I’m not big on putting a bunch of word text ads or banners that take up have my page. There are a lot of different ways to spice up a blog, I think one is to have good content. People like to go to a blog  that has a real person on the other side. Not a blogging advertising robot. Those are the sites I’m drawn to.

Open To Suggestions

Give me a few themes that you think will meet Voice Of Bragg needs. These are some of the things I am looking for in a theme.

v     Not to flashy

v     More Space for links to my blogging friends

v     A friendly color scheme

v     Easy manipulation with the theme

To My Friends

The commenter’s that give me some good ideas I am going to go to their site and do a review. You might be thinking, wow a PR ha ha is going to review my site. Well guys and girls I am having a great time with this blog and I have learned so much from my friends, I just want to show all of you that I really do read your sites and show you how well I pay attention to what you have to say. Ok kids on with the show, I hope all of you are doing well, have a great day.

The Seven Wonders of the World

Filed Under (Family, Talk) by Unknown Author

Junior high school students in Chicago were studying the Seven Wonders of the World. At the end of the lesson, the students were asked to list what they considered to be the Seven Wonders of the World. Though there was some disagreement, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt ’s Great Pyramids
2. The Taj Mahal in India
3. The Grand Canyon in Arizona
4. The Panama Canal
5. The Empire State Building
6. St. Peter’s Basilica
7. China’s Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student, a quiet girl, hadn’t turned in her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The quiet girl replied, “Yes, a little. I couldn’t quite make up my mind because there were so many.” The teacher said, “Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.”The girl hesitated, then read, “I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:

1. to touch…
2. to taste…
3. to see…
4. to hear… (She hesitated a little, and then added…)
5. to feel…
6. to laugh…
7. and to love.

The room was so quiet; you could have heard a pin drop.May this story serve as a gentle reminder to all of us that the things we overlook as simple and ordinary are often the most wonderful - and we don’t have to travel anywhere special to experience them.

Uses for Vinegar

Filed Under (Talk) by Sandy Weeks

    · Used as a hair rinse, vinegar neutralizes the alkali left by shampoos.
‘It will give your hair an all out shine!’

     · Age spot fader - Mix equal parts of onion juice and vinegar and use it daily on age spots. This will take a few weeks to work, just like its expensive relative from the store.

     · Splash vinegar on your varicose veins. The vinegar is supposed to reduce the veins and relieve the pain and swelling.

     · Use it diluted 50/50 as a skin cleanser as most soaps are alkaline as compared to skin ph.

     · It’s an ongoing battle as to whether vinegar can help you lose weight, but the ones who say it will, say to drink a glass of water before each meal in which you’ve added a tablespoon of vinegar and  a tablespoon of honey.

     · One teaspoon to one tablespoon of vinegar gets rid of hiccups.

     · Rinse water for face - pour 1/8 cup in rinse water, rinse face and let it air dry (it seals the moisture in the skin) (great for all over especially when weather is dry )cleanser - about 15 minutes to half  an hour, or longer, if you wish. Then brush them thoroughly. Your dentures will be cleaner and whiter than a proprietary dental cleaner can do it.

     · Makes a great eyeglass cleaner. Mix white vinegar 1/2 and 1/2 with water. I keep a tiny spray bottle in my purse.

     · Instead of buying expensive facial products , I mix up my own toner using 1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar and a few aspirin. The acids in the vinegar force your old skin cells to flake off, much like the store-bought alpha hydroxyl products. The aspirin is my own anti-acne solution. A lot of acne products use salicylic acid, which is basically aspirin with a few chemical differences. The aspirin won’t dissolve completely, but it doesn’t seem to matter. This works especially well against those deep acne spots older people often get. I’ve been using this twice a day for five years and people are amazed when I tell them my real age (44). One caution: Also use a face lotion with at least SPF 15 everyday- even in winter (Oil of Olay knockoffs are fairly cheap)- because the mixture will make your skin thinner (just like the expensive store-bought ones will) and more susceptible to sun damage.

     · I color my own hair and when I rinse, I rinse with warm water then I dilute white vinegar with water for the final rinse, as cold as I can stand. This seals your color so it doesn’t fade out as quickly.

      · Nail polish will go on smoother and stay longer if you clean your nails with white vinegar before applying it.

      · If you have hard water put vinegar in your bath water and rinse your hair with it. It gets out residue from shampoo and conditioner.

      · I work in fragrances and it is recommended to use vinegar to remove the odor of a perfume you don’t like. Apply it to skin that has been sprayed with the undesired perfume. Cleanser - about 15 minutes to half an hour, or longer, if you wish. Then brush them thoroughly. Your dentures will be cleaner and whiter than a proprietary dental cleaner can do it!

Fantasy Role Playing Games: Candy Coated Satanism (part III)

Filed Under (Religion) by Pastor Al Weeks

Satan is using these games to produce a vast army of the most intlligent young people of this country; an army the Anti-Christ will be able to tap into and control in an instant. Through their involvement in these games, people can be controlled demonically without ever realizing what is happening. In many states such games are used as a part of the school curriulum for the more intelligent students from 5th grade on. Most colleges use use the game Dungeons And Dragon as part of the curriculum in psychology courses. The justification given is that the students benefit from the role-playing experience. Almost every school has extracurricular clubs formed to play the games. In essence, such games ar crash courses in witchcraft. Unfortunately the participants usually do not realize this until it is too late.

For those unfamiliar with fantasy role-playing a game master that provides the framework of the game controls the game itself. The players create a charadter out of their imagination then flesh it out using dice determine the strength, speed, intelligence, and other statistics needed to truly play the character. They then begin to immerse themselves in the character. The game begins there but really does not have an end. Even if a character dies the group goes on and the one who died makes up another character. One the many dangers of this game are the fact that a person can have a character live along time and in that time the two personalities seem to merge into one.

One such event took place in Jacksonville, Florida on the night of September 30, 1986, in an apartment off Park Street in a section of town known as riverside, there were eight people crammed into a very small living room. The atomosphere was charged with excitement, this group had been traveling together through countless worlds for a long time. The leader of the party was called Arragorn son of Arrathorn eldest twin and heir to his father’s throne. His brother Lancer, known as Mournblade, was an assassin of the highest caliber, Arragorn would not be the leader without the fear of Lancer’s quick and silent blade. There was also a huge hulking brute that had formed a fast friendship to the brothers his name was Ben, Grim Ben. Twin female thieves, Sola and Luna, one knight, Sir Michael the Brave, and a priest of a demon god, Nightshade, rounded out the party.

More to come tomorrow….
