A Review of FatherlYours.com

Filed Under (Blogging Advice, Reviews) by Randy Bragg

 Content

Here we have Ramon, a 49 year old Father to  5 healthy Son’s and Daughter’s. This blog is to share his experiences, frustrations, happiness, and success.

Here are few of his most recent post;

Many a day I have sat and read a post from Ramon and thought that this guy really must be a good father, he has great knowledge of many things. Could he pull it off the net, sure, you can tell the difference between someone pulling and someone giving you a part of what they truly think and feel.

Blog’s Physical Look

Ramon I love you brother, but the blog has a few things that I think, and let me say that again, that I think could use some touching up.

  1. Needs more color.
  2. Navigation could be better.
  3. The load time was good.
  4. I did like that it was not cluttered with advertisements.
  5. I could not find anywhere to sign up for the feed.

Suggestion

Put your feed where people can get to it, and make it easy for people to sign up. Spice up the layout, put some color and some navigation to you hot spots at the top.

VOB To The Point

Don’t get me wrong, I love this site. Ramon has great insite from  raising children to home health advice. Please drop by and read some of his posts, you will not regret it.     FatherlYours

Want more PageViews for your blog?

Filed Under (Blogging Advice) by Randy Bragg

1. Your articles need to say something to the reader.

You need to write articles that say something to the reader everyday and it will link your articles together. This will allow your reader to get something from all the articles they read by linking them all together.

2. Put your articles highlight.

Highlighting your titles will draw them to your articles.

3. Give them your RSS (this will send them your articles via email) to access easily.

Page View can be increased sharply through the use of RSS by having them read your articles when they open up their mail. When users register this service, your can send them the updated articles daily.

4. Put the good stuff up front.

Put the articles that you think are the most well written in a well placed area of your blog.

5. Have your archive area look inviting.

People will go here to look at what you have done and see if it will be worth while to come back from past articles.

6. Have some articles that have the more to come, or read tomorrow for chapter two look to it.

Readers will come back if they want to see if the more to come is the missing link…

7. Look at your front page

Does it say it all or do you need to lead people to another page to read more, maybe a click here to view the rest of the story might drive more traffic.

Hackers Tools To Get To You

Filed Under (Computer Tips, Technology) by Randy Bragg

There are many ways for a hacker to gain access to you router. Lets talk today about how they are getting your name and password to your router.

  1. Reverse engineering
  2. Dumpster Diving
  3. Planting The Thumb Drive
  4. Trojans
  5. Packet Sniffing
  6. Username And Password Programs

Reverse engineering

All of these examples lead the hacker to your personnel information. The definition of Reverse engineering is the process of extracting the knowledge. Here’s an example of reverse engineering.

Ring Ring
Hello (me)
Hello Mister Bragg, how are you today? This is Mr. Blahblahblah, I am with (name of your bank goes here), we are calling our account holders to let them know that there has been a breach in one our databases with your online account name and password. It pains us to have to call and tell you this but we want you to be assured we are taking every measure to get you back on track. (Mr. Blahblahblah)
Really, wow sounds like the bank is having a bad day. (Me)
So let’s take care of this right now ok. (Mr. Blahblahblah)
Ok let’s do it. (Me)
Let’s verify your online username and password and change it to a new one. For security reason’s, what is your security password you have set to your account to give us authorization to make these changes. (Mr. Blahblahbla)
Sure, it’s This Or That. (Me)
Great, now that we can make the changes, let’s verify what you have it set to and make the necessary changes. (Mr.Blahblahblah)

So you can see where this is leading. The hacker get’s all of your infomation to your online account with the opportunity to access your bank account.

Dumpster Diving

Come on this has to sound appealing to you. Who doesn’t want to sneak to your house in the middle of the night to look through your trash for any information that could lead them to your account information?
Planting The Thumb Drive

You walk outside to have a smoke and there it is, a thumb drive. You pick it up and think, it’s my lucky day. You walk inside, put it in your computer and pow, the key logger program is loose and you think the thumb drive had no info on it. Later that day you buy something online and give the hacker all of your credit card information.

Trojans

These are more common than you think. Seems there are a lot of people that are downloading stuff for shareware sites. The files you download might not always have exactly what you expected; they might have something extra to it, a Trojan. This allows a hacker to break through your computers defenses to access you computer.

Packet Sniffing

We can talk about wireless hacking here. By listening in on your wireless transmissions, a hacker can gather information that will allow them to study it to get your personnel information. This can also be done over the wire, meaning through your telephone wire of cable modem. If a hacker has any way to intercept your transmission he can access your packets of information.

Username And Password Programs

When you buy software or hardware for firewall or virus protection, it doesn’t stop a persistent hacker. There are many programs out there that will sit and try and find your user name and password to your wireless router or computer. After they have that information they have the keys to the castle. If you have any questions to any computer security or computer related issues, my door is always open.

Is Anybody Out There???

I would love to see more comments on my articles. Agree, disagree, tell me what you think at least. I link back to sites people.

Daily Tech Impressions

Filed Under (Blogging Advice, Technology) by Randy Bragg

dailytechimpressions.PNG

Today’s review is from a blog that covers Tech from every side of the spectrum. The layout is simple and the page is easy to navigate.

The article that caught my eye was the most recently written about the Airborne Laser project. I have had first hand involvement on this project and the information given about the project is spot on. For more info you can go to Boeing’s home page and you can navigate through pages that give you all the info you want to know of the ABL project.

The Daily Tech Impressions site gives you a nice look at gadgets that might intrigue you or help you in the quest for a new toy. From folding guitars to Swiss Army knives, this site will offer you a daily dose of some cool technology.

With a bite more splash of color or maybe a new theme, it just might give this site some flare and in this writer’s opinion, more traffic. The articles really do the trick for this geek of a man that I am.

Kansas And Friends In Weight Loss

Filed Under (Family, Talk) by Randy Bragg

Do you know anyone with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), if so I recently went to a sight that talks about working out for people with MS. The sight Kansas And Friends In Weight Loss is not actually located with the title and a dot com with it, it is at http://joe.bloggingexpertise.com/.

The sight has a lot of great tips on exercises and keeping ones body in shape. For me it is easy for the job that I have, it makes me keep in shape, but for some people finding time to do some exercises is hard to do. There are  some articles that point out some great ways to keep tone by doing some simple things around the house.

Keeping up with the latest news headlines can be easily reached at this site as well. There are some helpful links on the side in case you find yourself looking for some more tips on just about anything. The layout of the site is kind of dull but it does the trick.
