Kansas And Friends In Weight Loss

Filed Under (Family, Talk) by Randy Bragg

Do you know anyone with MS (Multiple Sclerosis), if so I recently went to a sight that talks about working out for people with MS. The sight Kansas And Friends In Weight Loss is not actually located with the title and a dot com with it, it is at http://joe.bloggingexpertise.com/.

The sight has a lot of great tips on exercises and keeping ones body in shape. For me it is easy for the job that I have, it makes me keep in shape, but for some people finding time to do some exercises is hard to do. There are  some articles that point out some great ways to keep tone by doing some simple things around the house.

Keeping up with the latest news headlines can be easily reached at this site as well. There are some helpful links on the side in case you find yourself looking for some more tips on just about anything. The layout of the site is kind of dull but it does the trick.

Happiness And Truth

Filed Under (Talk) by Randy Bragg

Happiness is linked with truth. Some things are true, whether we choose to believe them or not. All Men want to be happy. The truth of this statement is so obvious that it barely needs mentioning. Yet Men often fail to discover the one sure path to happiness. Happiness does not consist in getting what we want.

It is on the narrow road to self-denial that we find the broad road of success and peace.

Knowing True Love

Filed Under (Talk) by Randy Bragg

There has been many times when I would go out with a woman and say I love you. Three months later we are finding out that we are not a match. Then I met the one to call my wife, she to has heard I love you over and over for twelve years. Nine years in to our marriage we had our son. After four years and so many times where sometimes I felt that I would fall short as a dad, there comes the day when I come home from work and he screams, “Dad” and runs towards me. The times when he comes up and says “Dad I love you”, the look in his eyes of approval when he has done something great and the times when he thinks he has let me down. You can’t touch love, you can’t breath it, but when I look in my sons eyes, he feels me with his love, and I know.

The Seven Wonders of the World

Filed Under (Family, Talk) by Unknown Author

Junior high school students in Chicago were studying the Seven Wonders of the World. At the end of the lesson, the students were asked to list what they considered to be the Seven Wonders of the World. Though there was some disagreement, the following received the most votes:

1. Egypt ’s Great Pyramids
2. The Taj Mahal in India
3. The Grand Canyon in Arizona
4. The Panama Canal
5. The Empire State Building
6. St. Peter’s Basilica
7. China’s Great Wall

While gathering the votes, the teacher noted that one student, a quiet girl, hadn’t turned in her paper yet. So she asked the girl if she was having trouble with her list. The quiet girl replied, “Yes, a little. I couldn’t quite make up my mind because there were so many.” The teacher said, “Well, tell us what you have, and maybe we can help.”The girl hesitated, then read, “I think the Seven Wonders of the World are:

1. to touch…
2. to taste…
3. to see…
4. to hear… (She hesitated a little, and then added…)
5. to feel…
6. to laugh…
7. and to love.

The room was so quiet; you could have heard a pin drop.May this story serve as a gentle reminder to all of us that the things we overlook as simple and ordinary are often the most wonderful - and we don’t have to travel anywhere special to experience them.

Uses for Vinegar

Filed Under (Talk) by Sandy Weeks

    · Used as a hair rinse, vinegar neutralizes the alkali left by shampoos.
‘It will give your hair an all out shine!’

     · Age spot fader - Mix equal parts of onion juice and vinegar and use it daily on age spots. This will take a few weeks to work, just like its expensive relative from the store.

     · Splash vinegar on your varicose veins. The vinegar is supposed to reduce the veins and relieve the pain and swelling.

     · Use it diluted 50/50 as a skin cleanser as most soaps are alkaline as compared to skin ph.

     · It’s an ongoing battle as to whether vinegar can help you lose weight, but the ones who say it will, say to drink a glass of water before each meal in which you’ve added a tablespoon of vinegar and  a tablespoon of honey.

     · One teaspoon to one tablespoon of vinegar gets rid of hiccups.

     · Rinse water for face - pour 1/8 cup in rinse water, rinse face and let it air dry (it seals the moisture in the skin) (great for all over especially when weather is dry )cleanser - about 15 minutes to half  an hour, or longer, if you wish. Then brush them thoroughly. Your dentures will be cleaner and whiter than a proprietary dental cleaner can do it.

     · Makes a great eyeglass cleaner. Mix white vinegar 1/2 and 1/2 with water. I keep a tiny spray bottle in my purse.

     · Instead of buying expensive facial products , I mix up my own toner using 1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar and a few aspirin. The acids in the vinegar force your old skin cells to flake off, much like the store-bought alpha hydroxyl products. The aspirin is my own anti-acne solution. A lot of acne products use salicylic acid, which is basically aspirin with a few chemical differences. The aspirin won’t dissolve completely, but it doesn’t seem to matter. This works especially well against those deep acne spots older people often get. I’ve been using this twice a day for five years and people are amazed when I tell them my real age (44). One caution: Also use a face lotion with at least SPF 15 everyday- even in winter (Oil of Olay knockoffs are fairly cheap)- because the mixture will make your skin thinner (just like the expensive store-bought ones will) and more susceptible to sun damage.

     · I color my own hair and when I rinse, I rinse with warm water then I dilute white vinegar with water for the final rinse, as cold as I can stand. This seals your color so it doesn’t fade out as quickly.

      · Nail polish will go on smoother and stay longer if you clean your nails with white vinegar before applying it.

      · If you have hard water put vinegar in your bath water and rinse your hair with it. It gets out residue from shampoo and conditioner.

      · I work in fragrances and it is recommended to use vinegar to remove the odor of a perfume you don’t like. Apply it to skin that has been sprayed with the undesired perfume. Cleanser - about 15 minutes to half an hour, or longer, if you wish. Then brush them thoroughly. Your dentures will be cleaner and whiter than a proprietary dental cleaner can do it!

Five Reasons Why You Should Stock Up on Yogurt

Filed Under (Talk) by Sandy Weeks

1. Just one cup of yogurt will help blemishes clear up thanks to the zinc it contains. Look for varieties that do not contain a lot of fat or sugar. Yes, they do exist and they offer lots of taste.

2. For menopausal women , it offers more calcium than milk, which is a good thing to know for those who don’t care for the taste.

3. Plain yogurt is often used as a facial mask. I would avoid the flavored varieties, for obvious reasons, but plain yogurt will cleanse the skin quite nicely. Skin however needs to be free of makeup. Yogurt is good… but it’s not that good!

4. It is also often used to soothe an itchy scalp. And while it is soothing the scalp, it is also working on your dandruff. Apply, wrap hair in a towel and then rinse after 15 minutes.

 5. Your hands and nails can also benefit from yogurt. Simply combine 8 ounces of plain yogurt with the juice of one lemon. Return to the refrigerator for several hours and then use to massage your hands and nails. Rinse and pat your hands dry and you should notice the difference. Hands should be soft and supple. *Keep mixture in refrigerator and use within 2 weeks or so.

johnchoweating.jpg

This is great, getting to the top never tasted so good huh John? After eating his book on how to blog your way to blogging wealth John gets a slice of sidebar pie. Hey maybe he can talk over another scam to get more readers by having another war with a blog. Who was the winners in this anyways? Makes me laugh when he shoves all his money making in our faces and we go back for more, yes we do.

Update

John Chow makes a stop and yet never says anything. How come he makes a point to say in his money making themes that you should comment, and he has nothing to say to me, why John?

In Case of Emergency

Filed Under (Family, Talk) by Randy Bragg

We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends.
If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn’t know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this ” ICE” (In Case of Emergency) Campaign.

The concept of “ICE” is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you n eed to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during emergency under the name “ICE” ( In Case Of Emergency).

The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones w ith patients, but they didn’t know which number to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel and hospital Staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dia l ing the number you have stored as “ICE”.
Please forward this. It won’t take too many “forwards” before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one’s mind at rest.

For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2 and ICE3 etc.

A great idea that will make a difference!

Let’s spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our Mobile phones today!
